I have other colleges I'm considering and would apply to, but from what I've seen and read Connecticut seems to be a perfect match for me-- other than the getting-in part. I realize my stats are really low, especially compared to those of the people on here but I figure it's still worth it to apply.

My public school is competitive, one of the best in the state.

My strength is writing, so I think I'll be able to pull out good essays. Good recs too I think. As for the grade change from 9th/10th to 11th, there's not a reason that I would actually tell the adcom about, so I guess I'm just a "late bloomer." I'm really, really interested in politics so I guess that's my hook.

The "early" part of the question is that I'm considering applying under Conns EDII policy- same as normal early decision, except with a later deadline, late enough to include my 7th semester grades (so says the website). The acceptance rate increases significantly with ED, to 66%. I know they say that "the people who get in ED are those who would get in RD anyway" but with a 30-some% yield rate I guessed Conn might be different. Anyway, chances?
