None of us would like it if it was easy. There is a learning curve, so don’t give up.

This game is tricky because Wyna Liu often sets traps to trip you up. After playing this game for several weeks, here is my list of things to look out for:

  1. It’s tempting to select four “connected” words that you spot right away and click submit. But check carefully to see if there’s a fifth word that might fit the category - there often is. If yes, put this category aside until you figure which other category uses up one of these words.

  2. Related to the above: check if any word can have more than one meaning. If yes, you may have to rethink your categories. For example, you may be tempted to group “slide” with “pull” and “drag”, but maybe there’s also “swing” and “seesaw” on the board.

  3. Sometimes it’s easy to mistake words that are related for words that connected. For example, “Istanbul” and “Turkey” might look like they belong together, but think again. One is a city and the other, a country. So they are unlikely to be in the same category.

  4. Words are sometimes not directly connected with each other, but only through another word. For example, “egg”, “island”, “bunny” and “Sunday” are related through the word “Easter” (as a prefix).

Exactly!
Like #3 tip- I was like well Istanbul is in Turkey ….so then I started thinking stuffing can be in turkey, etc…… so I was totally getting stumped but I knew she was doing this on purpose. :upside_down_face::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
