<p>@SpecOpsRigger - I am so excited by the prospect of a cohort of older students on the Wesleyan campus once again. I think it has been many years, probably not since the GI Bill following WWII, that so many have been an active part of undergraduate life (including - I hope - athletics!) Idealism certainly doesn’t stop just because you turn 21 and it’s important to honor that. I also think it’s important to acknowledge you’re going to be the adult in many situations. That’s a pretty exciting place to be because, IMHO, if there’s any place that could use improvement at Wesleyan, it’s the adult presence on campus once the 9-5 workday is over. That’s been a diminishing part of the campus equation for several decades. I hope you guys bring dogs and walk them at night. I hope you bring lots of kids and stroll with them on weekends. </p>
<p>It’s probably too much to hope that you will chaperone fraternity parties (they may not exist by the time you get there.) But, I do hope you will shop on Main Street.That you will vote. In short, welcome to Middletown and don’t sweat the kid stuff.</p>
