conservative v. liberal

what are the top conservative and liberal schools?

Chicago comes to mind for conservative. Yale comes to mind for liberal. And Harvard comes to mind for a certain shade of green, where ideologies matter much less--$$$.:D

But I think you will find a healthy mixture of ideologies and political leanings at most top LS--or at least I would hope so. Having said that, law is a rather conservative profession.

For students or faculty?

The Federalist Society was started at H, Y, and Chicago - I believe some combination of the three were involved in its inception. Nevertheless, the faculty at two of those schools are extraordinarily liberal.

The student body at my school is very conservative, but our faculty, again, is very liberal.

which school do you go to?

LOL!

...it will never stop. :D

A school that has a (relatively) high percentage of conservative students but a liberal faculty... CLEARLY! :)

The Federalist Society was started at Harvard because of abundany liberalism on campus, although it did have the help of students from Chicago.

Disregarding national ranking, George Mason, Pepperdine, Chicago, and Loyola, strike me as being the more conservative. Now for the liberal...its obvious.

On a side noe, check out the current issue of National Review, there is an excellent article on George Mason Law School, but it also talks alot about liberal vs. conservative law schools. Another good resource is the Spring 2006 edition of the Harvard Law and Public Policy journal, it was actually started by and mainted by Harvard Law's Federalist Society.

The Spring 2006 edition of Harvard's journal came out a few days ago, fyi.

It came out 2 weeks ago, I have had a copy for over a week, being a member of the Federalist Society, you get a comp copy in the mail.

It arrived in my mailbox at some indeterminate time last week. Then again, mail delivery, like everything else, runs a little slowly in these parts. ;)
