Consider Evaluating my Chances for Admission

Desperately worried, this is my way of coping. Let me tell you about my triumphs.

ACT: 27 (altogether unimpressive. I have a 31 in English, however)
GPA: 3.8 un-weighted. 4.0 weighted?

I have taken 40% of AP courses offered at my school (there are, as unfortunate as it is, only 5 available courses).

I have a 3 on the APUS Exam and a 5 on the AP English Lit.

In addition to AP courses I have taken several English-focused courses at the local community college.

Club involvement:

NHS Pres.
Student Body V.P.
Online editor of school's paper
Executive editor and founder of school's literary magazine
Editor and founder of school's sole satirical newsletter
President of Free Thinker's Society
Avid member of school's Jazz Ensemble
and more...

Essays:
If I may boast, the essays were nicely written and I am frankly proud of them.

Letters of Rec:
Also satisfactory. One is matter of fact, another is esoteric to say the least, and the third is a pleasant mixture of the two.

I suppose there is more I could tell you, but based on the above, I would love to have your thoughts.

Thanks fellow hopefuls!

From what I have read, and if it is true, then your only weakness is your less than notable ACT score. However, Kenyon does not strike me as a school that is too concerned with the statistics. I believe if they feel you are a strong fit, then they would be willing to overlook your score, which is afterall only one point below their 25th percentile.

All that said, I think you have a fair chance at admission.

^ I agree. Your ACT seems like it could be a weakness.
