I’m currently a second semester freshman at a Maryland CC. I currently have a 4.0 gpa, and have several ec’s.I’m planning on transferring as a junior in fall 2016. I want to transfer into a school of public affairs or diplomacy/international service. I’m currently looking at UMD, Seton Hall U, GWU, and American U. My top choice is American, either for PoliSci or Justice&Law. I am currently taking Principles of Bio I, which is intended for medical or scientific track students. I’m not doing all that well (best case scenario- I finish the class with a B, but a C is far more likely at this point. In addition to it being really difficult, I have honestly no interest in the subject material. I am also taking Calculus 1 (I have an A currently), and 3 humanities/social science classes, all of which I really like and have A’s in. I really don’t want the withdrawal, but I don’t want to kill my gpa, especially since I am not a bio major. The class is making me want to cry, and I would rather use my time on my other (more enjoyable) classes. My main question is, how bad would it look if I withdrew from the Bio class? Would it hurt my chances of transferring? Also, what are my chances of getting into American U? Thanks so much for any help, I’m really freaking out right now.
