OK, I'm sorry to post again, but I am considering my internship opportunities for summer 2006. I thought about going into aerospace. (for computer and possibly a little civil engineering). Does anyone know anything about the employment situation at aerospace companies such as Boeing? What are the long term employment outlooks for that industry? Does anyone know anyone who works in that industry?

I promise this is my last post. Please respond if you have any input on this.

My H is an aeropspace engineer (and prof). The aerospace industry tends to be up and down, but a talented engineer can find work in another area if need be. (H worked summers for GM while he was an undergrad at MIT; they tried to hire him when he graduated.) I'm not quite sure what you mean by "for computer and possibly a little civil engineering". Most of the students I've met are really (forgive me) passionate about aero-- wanted to be an astronaut, built model rockets when they were kids . . . Are you really interested in this more specialized type of program? If not, a more general degree, like ME might make more sense.

Just wanted to bump this up....Please keep commenting! Thank you.
