Considering BS/MA combined program (and PhD)

<p>Hello</p>

<p>I am doing Biomedical engineering and my school offers 5 yr BS/MA program.
Would BS/MA help me getting into PhD program? (I heard MA is not required)</p>

<p>I would like to hear some advantage and disadvantage of BS/MA program.
Also would having MA (compared to just BA) a lot better when seeking for a job?
(I mean it surely does, but to waht extend?)</p>

<p>from what i've heard, unless the MA comes with a thesis, its not going to do much.....who knows, adcoms might even look on it negatively since that means you spent an extra year somewhere else which means they lose a years worth of your money...but that's just random thinking</p>
