I was taking another look at the list of undergraduate majors and I noticed that Computer Science was offered at the College of Engineering (EECS) and the College of Letters and Science.

What's the difference?

I desire to major in business, but I'm interested in Computer Science too.
Is there any way I can double major, or is that just overkill?

Lastly, is it easy to just change to that Computer Science major before freshman year, or is it an impacted major?

Computer Science is not an impacted major any longer, the one in L&S. It probably would be practical to do Haas and L&S computer science, especially if you start taking your CS courses early. EECS combines hardware and software, so you have to take physics, etc., and thus is much more demanding and it is not practical to do Haas and EECS unless you have special circumstances.

So if you are in CoE and want to do CS or if you are in L&S and you want to do EECS, you have to transfer colleges, which isn't easy.

Also, EECS is considerably harder than CS because on top of CS classes, you also have to take EE courses and more math/physics courses.

EECS as a major is also much harder to get into. CS is not impacted so you can get in by getting at least a 2.0 in your prereqs.

I feel like I should warn you, EECS and CS are two of the hardest majors at Berkeley. It will suck up all your time. I suggest taking CS61A (or CS3 if you have no programming experience) if you're really interested.
