as I've said in a previous post, I am a second year student at CSUN, but I really don't enjoy the school and I want to transfer out. If I get all A's this semester, I'll end up with a 3.2 gpa. However, I doubt those grades would be good enough to get me into a school like LMU, Pepperdine, or even out of state schools like NYU, and even if I did, I would need financial aid due to my financial situation, and it is incredibly unlikely that either of those schools would grant much financial aid.

I'm intrigued with the idea of going to UCLA, and I'm considering going to Santa Monica College and applying for the honors program that streamlines the transfer to UCLA. However, one problem is that I'm concerned that UCLA would look in my history and see that I dropped out of a CSU and that would look bad for me. Secondly, I am already in my fall semester, and UCLA doesn't accept spring transfers, and I'd be looking at a transfer into the fall 2012 semester, which is a long time away.

Should I consider this route, or try and finish the year out and hope my financial situation improves so that I can transfer?
