Considering EA, please evaluate me

<p>Class of 2006 high school senior</p>

<p>Very competitive public high school</p>

<p>My unweighted GPA is a 3.7 and my weighted one is a 3.9</p>

<p>I will have taken 3 APs and many other weighted/college prep classes</p>

<p>My counselor can attest to the fact that I have lobbied seriously to get into many weighted classes</p>

<p>I've got good/great extracurriculars. I've stayed with a couple clubs/commmitments and gotten leadership positions. I've even written a student grant and started a club up with that money.</p>

<p>French club, 4 years. 2 years as officer.</p>

<p>Newspaper (national pacemaker award winning paper), 2 years. News editor, circulation manager, and managing editor this coming year.</p>

<p>Wrote student grant and received it for $600. Started up the mosaique club, which recreates works of great pieces of art in a mosaic or grid-like fashion.</p>

<p>Hospital volunteer work, 2 years. Accrued over 100 hours so far.</p>

<p>Ah yes, scores, how could I forget?</p>

<p>ACT 30. My essay was scored 11/12.</p>

<p>SAT 1340. Perfect essay. I think my breakdown was something like this:</p>

<p>Math 650. Reading 690. Writing 730, with perfect essay.</p>

<p>Chicago is definitely my top choice.</p>

<p>I want to minor in Korean and get into the HIPS major.</p>

<p>You have a shot if you write some very good essays. If applying for 2006, I'd start working on them now.</p>

<p>You are an average candidate. Bring up the SATs if you can, the math esp. A lot depends on your essays. They are whats going to allow you to stand out in the applicant pile. Show that you have quirks, passions, depth and you should be fine. But a bland, hackneyed essay and death.</p>
