<p>especially cost and academics, UC Santa Barbara vs. San Diego State University?</p>

<p>The cost differential for an in-state student is slight, maybe $2000-4000 a year. UCSB is well worth that much over SDSU.</p>

<p>They are both good schools. I’d pick Santa Barbara for education or parties and SDSU for school spirit, athletics, or if you go into certain majors where SDSU is better. (Which is pretty relative)</p>

<p>UCSB is a top 50 school nationally, SDSU is a good state school, this really is a no brainer unless moeny is a huge factor. uCSB.</p>
