I am considering applying to the MLC or RC and am concerned that if I am accepted would I even be able to get through it?
I don’t want to make anything more difficult for myself. From what I read it seems to be a hard act to follow for an average joe?
The RC is “open to all,” so all you have to do is express interest to be admitted to it. It has a hard language requirement - 20 credits, 8 credits a semester, then a 4 credit literature class in the target language. If you don’t like languages, stay far away.
As for the other MLCs, they also have requirements that may be hard to those who don’t like research (MRC), for example. If they have your interests, join by all means, but if not, the there’s no real advantage to be part of one (except location, but don’t base your decisions on where your dorm will be).
