Considering transferring. Please Help!

I live in New Jersey and I am currently attending Uconn. I am highly considering transferring to Rutgers for the spring semester and I have a few concerns. I am interested in business (accounting or finance). Besides Rutgers being much cheaper and closer to home/NYC (which i want) will it offer a better chance of meeting the right people? Uconn seems to offer more organizations for business but does that even matter? I would just like some opinions for what I should do.

I have trouble believing that UConn has better business relations than Rutgers. They are comparable within their own state. Obviously it will be less expensive for you.

“Uconn seems to offer more organizations for business but does that even matter?”

Not really. What might matter would be the career center. But even that won’t matter as much as your own initiative and personal drive.

Many jobs are acquired through networking, not necessarily where you got your degree.

My H is experiencing unemployment right now & has landed a couple of interviews just by contacting former co-workers. Good advice: when you leave a job, do not burn your bridges behind you, you may need need references, contacts, etc for the rest of your career. As no one stays at a company for 40 years plus & then retires, those days are gone, unless of course, you own your own business & are self-employed.

Where ever I end up I will always try to build connections. I just want to know in your eyes what school would be a better choice for a future in business. Thanks again
