Consolidated Book Thread For SAT II Prep Books

I thought that because the same thread for AP was such a success, we should start one for the SAT II's. I recommend Barrons for the SAT II World History.

Bio-Princeton Review

for me

Biology - Kaplan, definitely
World - Barrons
US - Amsco/REA
Math I/IIC - Barron and Meylani
Lit - Kaplan
Physics - Peterson's or Barrons
Chemistry - Barrons

Chemistry - Barron's, PR is good too

I used Princeton Review for both the Math IIC and Physics tests.

The main thing I disliked about the PR Physics book is its lack of derivations for a few really important equations. For some reason I hate using equations without knowing how to derive them.

i have used both barrons and mcgill for math2 and chem, and barrons and kaplan for phy. mcgill's presentation of info looks more appealing. but i have no idea which helped me the most cuz i did both books simultaneously. anyway, i got full marks for my sat2.

Chemistry - Barron's, NOT Kaplan
Math - PR, Barron's if you have time
Physics - PR, Barron's, maybe Kaplan

Use Sparknotes as a supplement.

History-Kaplan, REA, CB
Literature-Kaplan and PR
Math-PR, Barrons, CB

These are the prep books I used for these tests, and found them helpful.

Physics-sparknotes.

all books have their downsides but I'd say that
Barron's is best for Bio ad Math despite the useless crap it sometimes has and the difficult questions.

bump........

Physics - PR
Math I- ???
Math II- Barrons, Meylani, PR

Math II: SparkNotes - quite close (a bit easier); Barron's - to overprep; Meylani - way hard and not very realistic.
