UCI to UCLA Business Economics Transfer Chances for Fall '10

I’ve completed all requirements and have achieved the following:

GPA: 3.92 Cumulative
Extra Curricular Activities: UCI Entrepreneur Society Active Member since '09, Currently Participating in SCORE (Counselor’s to America’s Small Business) workshops with certificate upon completion.
Work: Internet Marketing and Sales position at a Small Business for ~4.2 years (2006-present)…grew the business by over 30% in terms of profits.
Looking at a 4.0 for Winter '10 Quarter (they allow you to update your app, so UCLA admissions might see this)
I’ve done Extensive Volunteer-work throughout High School (They allowed you to list this on the application, but I don’t know how much they care about it)

All responses are appreciated!

Another anthropology major- Hey! In at UCLA, good shot at Berkeley.

Lennubb-- Berkeley has about an 18% acceptance rate for Anthropology majors…The fact that you’re in honors and have a 4.0 in your prereqs is a plus, but I’m not positive about that 3.69 GPA…you might be a little on the fence at Berkeley.

However, there is still a good shot! You should be fine at UCLA

another Anthro homie woot woot!

hey,AGR1010 where did u find that stat? do u have a link? id appreciate it :)

@AGR what would you say is a non “fence” Anthro GPA for Berkeley? How’s a 3.8?
And 18% isn’t as high as I had imagined.

Yeah, that’s really low. My major is suppose to be one of the most competitive and we have a 28% acceptance rate.

But seriously, anthro-schmology majors need to stop hogging up the forum. Ditch diggers. Hahaha college major slurs.

umm no one was asking about ur major bro.

stop the hate, we are the coolest major representing!

http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/12626_5.Info_TransAdm.pdf

The admission rate for the entirety of “Social Sciences” is 18.3%.

@Hadrian!! Thanks so much dude! I can’t believe this is the first time I’ve seen stats like that! You should like, make your own thread or something haha, lots of people are looking for that kind of stuff, I’m sure.

@emp Ditch Diggers!?! Pencil Pusher! Compass twirler! Calculator operator! Protractor Purchaser! Multiplication fanatic! Long division freak!

ahem.

That’s a bummer. I imagine with Berkeley’s reputation it attracts a lot of social science (some people might call them degenerates, but not me) types. Thassssss prolly why the rate is so low.

Likely, yes. I applied as a history major but intended to switch to anthro or do a double major (I’ve done the prereqs for both) but if I’d seen that page earlier on, I would’ve applied as for classical civ and had twice the chances.

Oh well, I’m sure we’ll all get in. Optimism! :)
