Debski will be unavailable to read essays for the next month; sorry!

Even though I might not be qualilfied for it, I just like to read. I'm happy to critique as well =)

I've been a bit busy, and each essay takes me 20-30 minutes to read. So if you send me an essay there's about a 1 in 3 chance you'll get it back. Sorry.

I'll be happy to read! (: I like reading essays and I'll try my best to give good advice.

radronOmega gives great comments and thorough critiques. :-)
Thanks for the help!

i would love to help review essays.

**I suggest people go to page four to read my requirements. I forgot to put my email address and when I posted a new response it already bled over to page 5.

I'll read your essays. It will take me some time to give you thorough comments

I will not be available to read essays in the next coming weeks. Please don't send them over! Sorry!

I've been happy to have helped many college applicants with their essays -- and would be happy to help others in the future. Recently, I've had a few essays essays sent me with requests for same day reviews. Others have sent me essays without a prompt or context. It is inconsiderate to expect a volunteer-reviewer to provide a thoughtful critique on short notice or without a broader context (specific prompt, college involved etc.)

I would suggest that high school seniors seeking review of their essays have a responsibilty to:
-- allow reviewers ample time, say, at least four to seven days -- sometimes longer depending on the calendar (remember, reviewers have their own studies, exams, work)
-- forward your essay along with the specific prompt, colleges targeted, word limit
-- use email to send your essays, as it is difficult to edit essays submitted by PM
-- seek review of your penultimate -- next to final -- draft; not your first draft
-- include your CC identity

Most of all, provide for time to make use of comments to revise and improve your essay. Recently, I had a response which said: "Thank you, but I sent in my essay early. Should I be worried?"

I can definitely vouch for radronOmega. Madly brutal critique and VERY helpful advice. Will be rewriting my essay soon to address major problems

And to anyone who's here on CC wondering whether they should send their essays in to any CC reader, I definitely would recommend it. I have a feeling this has helped my app a lot asking for advice

I will edit and help advise on essays to improve my english; its really good pracitice, and I dont think I am half bad at it.
Here are the requirements though:
-Give me enough time, I dont check everyday
-Tell me what the prompt is, what colleges it is for, what the word limit is
-Tell me what you want in specific for me to review; I do better if I have direction for what you are looking for. If it is grammar mistakes, mention that. If it is organization, mention that too. Just mention something!
-Tell me what type of criticism, ultra harsh (beware, I make people cry),
-Send me back a copy of the revision for me to look at again

Yes, please add my name to the list. I am a parent with a MS degree from a "prestigious" school. :)

I'm happy to read and critique essays. I helped to run a college application workshop for rising juniors and seniors at my former highschool this summer, and as part of that I regularly read essays alongside our college counseling staff.

Please let me know what the prompt is, when it is due, and where you're planning to send it. Also the suggested length or word count.

I would prefer you to PM essays, however, if you would rather send them by email, contact me via PM and I will send you the address.

I forgot to mention that I am also willing to read essays for college scholarships, if you provide me a link to or copy of the instructions.

Love to help if I have the time

I can read essays you need someone.

I just recieved criticisms from radronOmega and I too vouche for him. He is the real deal. He is infinitely more helpful than even the english AP teachers in my school because he pinpoints exactly where you essay gets weak/strong and fully explains why (awkward structure? too wordy? brag alert? too vague? horrible setup?) throughout the entire essay. My paper was BLEEDING red everywhere after the criticisms, and it was suppose to be one of the less criticized ones.

hi do you mind reading what i have so far for my UC essay -prompt 1?

Thankyou

I'd critique essays as well.

Note: I am an 09' applicant. I am done with my essays though. I can do a diligent job, I'll show you a copy of something I corrected if you want to see my editing skills lololol.

You can email me at omgjennistooshortofaname@gmail.com or PM me.

Email me with the following information:
1) Your CC ID
2) Prompt
3) I would prefer to read essays that are CLOSE to being done, so I don't have to correct too many grammar mistakes (which is very time consuming), etc. Make it easier for the readers to help you! : )
