Constantly scoring 750+

Hi guys,

I've been constantly scoring 750-760 in the math sections in the BB but haven't been able to top 760 (usually about 2 wrong). I'm looking for a good book that'll enable me to do just that. So I'm not looking for a basic book but a book with mostly the tough questions. Any suggestions?

Also, I found one book on Amazon: "Dr. John Chung's SAT Math"...has anybody used it?

Perhaps try the Barron’s book for the Math II subject test?

I used Dr. Chung’s and yes, it is worth the money. This book only contains very difficult questions that you would normally find towards the end of a section of math. It brought me from a 670-780 and I only used it for about 2 months. I wouldve gotten an 800 but I made one simple mistake lol -.-

Yea i had the same problem and the practice tests in the chung book got me to 800 on the June test

I heard Grubber’s and Dr. Chung’s are both immensely helpful.

I just ordered the Dr. Chung book. Thanks for the help guys!

If you’re still looking for resources, consider Math SAT 800 ([Amazon.com: Math SAT 800: How To Master the Toughest Problems (9781439200063): Dan Eiblum MSEd, Kimberly Noonan M.S., Michael Forman M.S., Nargess Memarsadeghi Ph.D., Matthew Konicki M.A.: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Math-SAT-800-Toughest-Problems/dp/1439200068/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1309563177&sr=8-1)). It pulled me up from a 700 to a 770, and much like wrongbelief, I was only one question off from 800.

thanks for the extra book z.exodus. I’ll definitely take a look at it if I feel Dr. Chung’s book isn’t enough…though it seems as though the 20 tests in the book should suffice to bump up my score. Also is that book mainly practice tests or is it more of a teaching/lesson book?

If you’re getting 750+ on the SAT math sections, that means that you definitely have the capability to get an 800. The real question you want to ask yourself is whether you are making mistakes due to carelessness or due to a lack of knowledge.

If you’re making mistakes due to carelessness, you will have to learn to be more careful while taking the test. If you are making mistakes due to a lack of comprehension of certain subject matters, study those subjects in depth.

When I was preparing for the SAT, I found myself scoring 700+ on all the practice tests I took. However, I realized that I was making silly mistakes due to carelessness. I spent the next few weeks working on my pacing and timing and was lucky enough to score an 800 when I took the actual SAT last March.

The pattern seems to be that whenever I get a question wrong that isn’t a level 4 or 5 question, it’s because of a careless mistake or something simple that I overlooked. But whenever I get a level 4 or 5 question wrong, it seems to be due to lack of knowledge or rather, a lack of knowledge on how to apply the knowledge that I already know that pertains to the certain question…do you think going through Dr. Chung’s book entirely should help me with this problem?
