Construction Management Program

Can anyone familiar with the program at Clemson tell me what they know as far as difficulty to get into, reputation, number of students in the program or anything see they can share? I will be a HS senior from CT with just under a 3.6/4.0 GPA with several honors and AP classes. My SAT scores are not the best however. I've been involved in various school clubs, and volunteer activities including altar boy for 7 years. I've played HS baseball for 4 years as well as Legion ball in the summers. I started my own successful landscaping business 3 years ago which continues to grow. Any thoughts on how I can position myself to get accepted into the program? Thanks

I don’t know anything about the program but the Clemson FactBook says there are 123 students in the major. I think construction science & management is a program with limited spaces so it may be competitive but your GPA is ok and if you’ve taken AP/honors classes that will help as well.

Thanks. With a 3.6 GPA unweighted what do you think the min SAT score would need to be in order to be considered? How much does Clemson value extracurricular activities and community service or is it strictly test results and GPA? Thanks

Here’s what Clemson says:

Very Important - Rigor of Secondary School Record, Class Rank, Academic GPA, Standardized Test Score, State Residency

Important - Alumni Relations

Considered - Application Essay, Recommendations, Extracurricular Activities, Talent/Ability

Not Considered - Interview, Character/Personal Qualities, First Generation, Geographical Residence, Religious Affiliation/Commitment, Racial/Ethnic Status, Volunteer Work, Work Experience, Level of applicant’s interest

The average SAT score for Clemson applicants is 1170-1330 (for critical reading and math)
