<p>With regards to biological sciences PhD careers, what does consulting for a company exactly mean? what about investment banking?</p>

<p>Another question: is there any way a researcher (with no M.D.) could get involved in some "side-job", maybe something with a clinical twist?</p>

<p>I'm trying to think of possible options I would have as a PhD if academia did not work out.</p>
