I received an email from someone in their financial aid department asking for a very specific piece of information. I cannot help but speculate, could this be a good sign, or is this a fairly random occurrence?

It’s generally accepted that it’s a good sign as it doesn’t make sense for them to comb through your documents or need very specific information unless they were calculating your aid which would imply that you have been accepted. That being said, don’t take it as a sure thing. Good luck

Thank you! I am still skeptical, but I had a similar train of thought on that one.

That wasn’t our experience. There was no correlation between the schools that contacted us about FA and acceptance.

The financial aid office and admissions office are separate. In the past, some people who were contacted by financial aid around this time ultimately were wait listed or rejected. But perhaps things have changed. Good luck!

I was contacted too and they asked for specific information that isn’t part of what they say they require on their website. And I’m an international student (Canadian) living in the US so admissions isn’t need blind for me. I hope it’s a good sign for us but I wouldn’t get too excited because it’s possible that it doesn’t mean anything.

Good point on them being separate, but hey, here’s to hoping! I suppose either way we will find out soon. Anybody know whether the March 23rd or the March 30th notification date is the actual one they are going with? I have seen both on their page.

It’s March 23rd. They updated the page that said March 30th.

Has anyone with missing forms gotten in without being contacted?

I’m missing basically everything other than FAFSA (don’t ask why… it’s a long, long story), and have gotten zip from the finaid office.

That’s next Saturday. Hope everyone can find their user ID’s and passwords! Good luck! I found this on the website, I believe in the FAQ section. It’s been on our family calendar for awhile. Usually, the college applicant is not awake at that time on the weekend but will plan to be up earlier than usual next Saturday.

i got contacted about specific info too! got me worked up for a couple days haha

We’ll find out tomorrow if it meant anything… aaaaaa

If anybody is still wondering (or possibly just for next year’s applicants’ reference) I got in!
