<p>Should it be a true letter? or could it be like an additional application essay?</p>
<p>What's a good way to start? I mean should it be an original introduction or the prosaic...
"I'm writing to inform you about my activities since the beginning of this year...."</p>

I am writing to let you know of my continued serious interest in (your) school. Since I completed my application, I have continued to receive straight A's and, in fact, have been short-listed for the Pulitzer Prize (or whatever). Please know that if I am accepted off of your waitlist, I would certainly attend as Your College remains my first choice school.
