Hi,
I had a question about contacting BS coaches.
How would I contact the coaches?
I've heard that you could schedule to meet them or something like that.
For those who have done this before, what did you usually talk about with the coach?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, im starting at phillips exeter next week as a prep and i must assert the importance of contacting coaches in temrs of its helpfulness in your application! Just go ahead in an email to the coach of your main sport introducing yourself and adressing yoir interests in the school and what you can contrivute to the school community, specifically what you will congribute to the particular sport, citing your previous experiences/achievments.

Is it only worth contacting coaches if you’re at varsity level. If you’re Freshman or JV level and have been playing for 2 years would it be worth contacting them and stating my desire to improve at the sport.

@vabukkacream,
Yes, it would be worth it. Go ahead and email the coaches.

@missrat,
You don’t have to schedule a meeting, but you can. I scheduled a meeting with a few faculty members at schools that I toured at. It’s easy-just send them an email about a week before your visit, and try to find a time that you could both talk.

What if you don’t have any experience, but you’d like to try that sport is you went there?

Go ahead and contact them. I think that it would be good to contact coaches in sports like Wrestling and Crew because many kids pick up those sports at BS. You could ask stuff like how to prepare for x sport, whether it’s common kids to pick up the sports, etc.
