I know that it is important to show colleges that you are interested in your school by visiting, calling, responding, etc. I respond regularly to mailings from colleges that I am interested to receive more, but am unsure about contacting admissions officers via e-mail and phone, since I don't really have any questions, and wouldn't want to ask about something that I could have easily looked up myself. What am I supposed to say to "show interest"? Do I justsay that school X is my first choice or what?

If in the mailings you find something that is not easy to find info on and grabs your attention (for example, mention of a small programme), pop an e-mail over to the admissions counselor and mention it. Ask a question or just mention that it makes you even more excited about the school.

But don't bug the officers too much lol...also, I was in love with a school that had a nonbinding early program, so I wrote on my app in "Additional Info" that it was my first choice and that I would go if I got in...that might be worth a try too!!!
