Contacting Companies About Possible Internship Opportunities

The career fair was at my school last week but because of my schedule, I was unable to attend due to afternoon lab sessions and classes. What should I do to get my resume out to companies that I would've liked to talk to at the career fair? (looking for a summer internship) Should I email a recruiter (career center website has a contact person for each company)? call someone? or just send in an application online if possible?

Thanks!

I think that’s fine! Just say you missed the fair and wanted to learn more! Good way to get on their radar.

All of the above. Do whatever it takes to get an internship, cause an internship leads to more internships and jobs.

Is there a preferred method? calling vs. emailing? Don’t know which is more appropriate for this situation

Most employers actually do prefer email and some actually respond quicker if you email them. But it doesn’t hurt to try!

Honestly, I’d call (supposing you can find who to call). I prefer a direct approach, people are much less likely to brush you off over the phone. That said, if you aren’t confident over the phone do it by email.

Personally, I would call, too.

you can always email and then followup with a phone call a couple days later if you don’t hear anything.
