Contacting Professors

Is it a good idea to contact professors to find out more about a particular program at a school? or is it annoying for them? If not, how do you really go about it, do you just e-mail them and say, "I'm interested in this school. could you please answer some questions for me?" thanks

It's a good idea. Most professors are more than willing to talk about their programs, at least in my experience.

I emailed a couple and they were all extremely helpful and gave lengthly replies. I'm pretty sure most professors at institutions that are fairly focused on undergrads will be more than happy to help.

It's a good idea to make that kind of contact because it'll definitely give you a much better feel for the school than some admissions officer or presentation. Some schools also keep track of how prospectives contact them and talking to professors is always a plus!
