At the risk of adding to a certain very long list, here are a few things that worked well in the suite

This is essentially the same product - the bookcase has one lower shelf that can be folded up so you can use as a hutch (but then repurpose as a bookcase for non-dorm living). If you are lucky, when you are in the store and reaching for one, you will meet another CC mom also buying one.

Yes, this is how I met Class2012. Fortunately there was a huge supply; I would not have wanted to have to fight her for it - that would just get a relationship off on the wrong foot.

Went last night in Atlanta. What a mad house. Line was from the front to the back of the store, across the back and then half way back to the registers. Thank goodness we thought a bringing little sister to play “line holder”. Loved the underbed drawers of various heights…lots of combos to reach 30". Make sure you sign up for drawings as soon as you get there and have your student put UA on their nametag! Met a new UA friend last night!

I signed up for the online sale because I don’t like crowds either. We don’t have that much more to get, so I opted to avoid the crowds all together…

Target They had all we needed. Being in Tut she does not have room for much. They had the black 3 drawer plastic storage units that fit perfect under the 30" raised bed. Got them on sale for less than $10 No long lines

I’m not about to set foot in any madhouse of college crazed moms that are about to send their special snowflake off to college.
Unless they are serving free drinks, then I might think about it

I take it the College Dorm sale at the Container Store is similar to the annual Bridal dress sale at Filenes basement. Every man/woman for themselves…lol

I actually kind of liked the craziness of the Container Store night last year. Of course, I did not take my son with me. I also may have liked it because I met beth’s mom there and there is comfort in knowing other moms in the area.

I remember the CS salesperson telling me that the laundry container I was looking at would never fit in my son’s dorm room. I told her “you have not seen the dorm room at Alabama, I could fit TWO of these in there.” and then proceeded not to buy it because she was a snot.

We had our college night tonight in Hallandale Beach. There were maybe 30 people in the store. We stood in line for about 3 minutes. Free snacks and water from Whole Foods, photo booth, several giveaways, friendly and attentive associates. A lot of fun and 20% off of our entire purchase. I am certainly glad we did not have the crowds like I read in earlier posts.
