Contemplating honors chem

the prereqs for honors chem include scoring above a certain number on the math placement test – if my sat/ap scores relieve me of taking the test during advising, will i still need to take it before class begins?

Yes, all incoming students have to take all necessary placement tests. You cannot get around them..

really?

Advanced Placement students who have scored 4 or 5 on the Mathematics AB exam or 3,4, or 5 on the Mathematics BC exam or received a score of 700 and above on the SAT Math as recorded in their application file are not required to take the placement exam. If students opt to take the placement exam because their AP scores are not yet available they have the option of taking the math placement exam.

back to my question: though i am exempt from the exam, am i still required to go back, take the test, and score above a certain number to be allowed in the honors section?

thanks for replying, by the way. i thought nobody would.

Hmm, I guess there are a few exceptions then. From my experience this question has been asked a lot and the end result has always been that the person has had to take the exam.

Anyway, about your particular case I'm not sure, but a simple phone call should answer it. You can also just wait until SA and ask your student counselor. But if worst comes to worst and you haven't found your answer by SA don't get left behind and just take it..

actually, i already had my SA. who should i call to confirm these things?? i've looked all over the website and can't find the appropriate link/number. can anybody help me out?
