<p>my high school seems to not give any information or do anything when it comes to competitions. I was wondering if anyone can give me a referral or some links to the most prestigous competitions there are for high school students that would look extremely good on your resume for college?</p>

<p>I think most of the deadlines for 2006 competitions have passed, because they usually have regional-national-international levels and need a long time period to evaluate for each stage.</p>
<p>yeah, i go to the same type of school! and i found CC in grade 11 so it was way too late, however, i tried my best and registered my school for a biology contest :) (teachers were clueless and didn't bother with our school) but i signed us up, and we wrote it and i got ranked :) (low rank, but at least i was able to do something about it)</p>
<p>so just look them up online and do it! contest fees are only $10-$20, not much anyway

<p>Go to Collegeboard.com. They have a search engine that gives you a list of competitions you can enter..They give you scholarship $ as well. And actually, don't worry too much about contests and awards. Do well in school, get AP Scholar awards, and that's good enough. and oh yeah, apply to TASP (telluride association summer program.) It's for writers, it's very prestigious (kind of like an award/contest to get in). The deadline for application is the 23rd or the 26th of January. Google that.</p>
