Continuing contact during ED waiting period

My D has applied ED to her LAC, with a coach supported application. We're assuming it makes sense for her to contact the coach every so often as first trimester grades and post season honors roll out, make sense? Notification date is 12/15, your thoughts?

Charlie9,

Certainly makes sense in my mind. You’ve committed ED to the school. I think it is more than appropriate for your daughter to reach out to the coach to touch base with milestones or anything on her mind. I remember being in this position last year. It can be painful waiting those 6 weeks. I feel for you. You only have two weeks exactly. Good luck!

My son applied ED last year, and we heard back on 12/10. He sent the coach a couple notes and the coach initiated a couple emails as well to stay in touch. One memorable note from the coach asked my son what his baseball cap & cleat size were…I guess his way of saying everything is good and not to worry. He asked my son to call him when he got the official acceptance letter via web on Dec 10. My son called. The coach told him he knew he was “in” a month ago, but he couldn’t say anthing.

We’re in same boat, 14 days and counting…

We had the same thing last year-coach sent a congratulatory e-mail right after the official-apologized for not being able to tell us-hopefully in 2 weeks this stress will be in the past…
