Contradicting Award

Hi all,

I’m prepping my list of awards for my application and I have a question regarding a specific award I have won. So the award is the YSEA award (Yale Science and Engineering Award) which I have won at a regional Science fair. However I’m concerned with putting it on my application toward other ivys (other than Yale) and other schools in general as it is Yale Specific. Despite this, I want to put it on as it is a pretty good accomplishment and relatively rare (one awarded every year at each regional science fair) so I believe it is substantial enough to be put on my application.

Opinions on this matter is gladly accepted. Thanks

List it; it’s a nice achievement.

As an example, thousands of students annually receive the Yale Book or Harvard Book Awards. It is common enough that Princeton, or any other school, will not get their knickers in a twist.

Very well thanks

Yes, put it on. It is no guarantee that you will be accepted at Yale or would pick Yale as your first choice if you are accepted there. The other colleges know that.
