contrasted with or contrasted against?

<p>Are there other choices? Is it part of a sentence? I'm guessing it's contrasted with, if you are just asking between the two.</p>

<p>It certainly isn't 'contrasted against'.</p>

<p>You could say 'in contrast to....."</p>

<p>I guess you could say, "The somber green tone of the cloak, contrasted with the red piping at the hems, made me think of a Christmas tree decorated with red tinsel. " You know, phrasing like that would permit use of 'contrasted with'.</p>
