I'm looking into majoring in Graphic Design and Computer Science.

Of course, with Graphic Design, most people would recommend a Mac, which I would completely agree with.

But with Computer Science, would I be the only one there with a Mac? I fear that I would.

I have enough money to buy a netbook and a Macbook Pro.

I suppose my real question is: Can I survive a major in Computer Science with only a netbook?

plenty of people in CS have macs. your mac will be fine for computer science. a lot of the computer languages and platforms you’ll be using for your classes will be supported on multiple operating systems, including mac os x. also, the CS department will provide machines that you can either use in a lab or remotely access where you can do your assignments.

This then poses another question.

Macbook Pro 13 or 15?
The 13 is much easier to carry around and cheaper.
The 15 has HD graphics (two graphics cards, actually) and is Core i5 vs. Core 2 Duo.

PROS of 13
Easy to carry
Cheaper

CONS of 13
Lack of HD Graphics
Core 2 Duo

PROS of 15
HD Graphics
Core i5

CONS of 15
Expensive
Difficult to carry around
