what other colleges should I consider applying to?

Based on what? We need some info on you (grades/scores/desires). What would you like to study? I can’t tell if you want suburban/rural or not. Small/Large?? It’s all over the place.

Your list seems like all reaches.

We need to know…

ACT

SAT:
including breakdown of
Math:
Critical Reading:

GPA weighted
GPA unweighted

Do you need Financial Aid, if so, will you qualify?

How much can your family contribute?

Do you want/need scholarship money?

What kind of school do you want? Large or small? Sporty rah rah or more quiet?

Rural or “big city” or suburban?

Do you need Financial Aid, if so, will you qualify? Need aid, will not qualify for that much

How much can your family contribute? Not much

Do you want/need scholarship money? Yes

What kind of school do you want? Large or small? Sporty rah rah or more quiet? Large Sporty rah rah

Rural or “big city” or suburban? Doesn’t matter

Hmmm… well its difficult to know what your looking for in a university. You can try also Boston University and Northeastern. A large reach would be Massachusetts Institute Technology.

I think you need some match, safety and financial safety schools. What is your flagship in-state university? Do you want to go there? If you don’t have one, SUNY Stony Brook could be your financial safety.

Other matches and safeties that you should consider are Wisconsin, Case Western, Boston U, Bucknell, UConn, Lehigh, Michigan, Purdue, Rochester, and Syracuse.

Hope this will help. :)

^Above poster has a good list.

For BME, Case Western is superior to most of the colleges on your current list. I’d consider it highly, along with Pitt Honors and Carnegie Mellon.

If you’re looking for large, sporty schools with strong financial aid programs, why not consider some public universities that offer guaranteed scholarships and access to honors programs?

make SURE your application is submitted no later then Dec 1 for USC!!! that is the deadline to qualify for scholarship consideration.

Sorry if I didn’t clarify, I have two financial safeties that I did not list

I initially removed Out-of-state public schools because of the large fee that would not be covered by financial aid. Also the idea of paying much more for something but receiving the same quality as somebody who paid less isn’t appealing. However I am really interested in these “guaranteed scholarships” for a 34 ACT. Do you know any?

Thanks, I submitted yesterday :D

Miami (FL) gives gauranteed scholarships with a certain test score and offers a wide variety of majors including BME (If I’m not mistaken). They are not quite as large as some of the other schools that are Rah Rah sporty, but it is definatley a sports-centric school. I think it’d be a nice safety for you.

I already have a financial safety…

I’m looking for financial matches :)

Case will give you a chunk of merit aid. Don’t overlook them! The Cleveland Clinic is right next to campus and the internships are extraordinary.
Keep digging for good schools you can afford. It should be your number one priority unless you want a lovely acceptance letter to a school you cannot pay for. Cornell gives no merit aid. I wouldn’t count on Mudd, Duke Stanford or Northwestern coming through either, I’m sorry to tell you. You need to step down a tier and look for the right type of school when you need merit money.

The above is right. But, there are mid-tier big sporty schools that will give you big merit. :)

I know that you wrote that you won’t qualify for much aid. That will be a problem at some elite schools that don’t have deep pockets like Harvard that give $$ Financial aid to highish incomes. Most elite schools don’t give ANY merit.

Are you considering bio-med engineering as “pre-med” or what? :)

What are your 2 financial safeties? If they don’t excite you then they aren’t good financial safeties. :)
