I think you’ve been given plenty of insight here, you just don’t seem to like the answers that you’re getting. I find it ironic that you say in your latest post that you don’t mind being judged, given that the whole point of your original post seems to be that you’re worried about being judged by other parents at your child’s school if you don’t give enough money to be listed as a donor at a certain level. So if you don’t like the advice you’ve been getting from us, I’d suggest that you take your own advice and not worry about people judging you.

^^ Nothing ironic at all. The judging is being done by people who dont anything about me, nor I about them. Which makes the “judgy” comments like water off a ducks back. If it makes you feel better about yourself then I guess it was a productive use of your time. But just know those comments will have zero impact on my outlook, views, or behavior. (So again, comments like the above only add to the clutter)

You are only seeing a part of the picture and I cant go into all the details as I need to protect the innocent. And its not that I am getting answers I don’t like, its that many of the judging commentary arent providing any answer at all.

RoomNacht, It is unreasonable to ask for the insight from others, then say ‘your comments aren’t relevant, because you only know part of the picture’. It is difficult for anyone to advise on a situation with only part of the picture. There are many parents here who share their experience and insight as a support to others. But trying to help someone who really doesn’t want it unless it’s exactly the answer you want to hear … Based on an incomplete picture…
We’d like to help, but honestly, it is a waste of our time as well as yours.

Again…

Are there folks out there on FA who are contributing to the Annual Fund at the first donor level?

To date, it seems like nobody does this.

@RoomN I haven’t read through this thread, but I think the answer to your question is no. While I think that many parents whose children receive financial aid do give to the Annual Fund, I think it is at a much lower level. I think that schools would be very suspicious of your financial aid application if they see that you have enough discretionary income to give at the “first donor” level. I would expect your financial aid grant to be reduced the next year.

^^ Yes. My thoughts and concerns mirror yours. Thank you for chiming in.
