Controversial Resume?

I have a question for you guys...

Lets say you own a website like juicycampus.com or thedirty.com. You know, basically a site which the media tears apart and pretty much everyone thinks badly about, but it is successful and I guess it shows that you have creativity, entrepreneurship, and ambitions. But I guess it also technically shows you have weak morals...

Would this be good to put on a resume? Just curious...

Thanks!

Oh ya and by the way this is for a Computer Engineering student...

If you’re applying for a job at the National Enquirer, TMZ, the New York Post, or another relevant job, then sure!

yeeeah but i won’t be applying to those places…more like GE, deloitte, harris, etc…

It probably depends on the company. Some are more conservative than others.

I’d play it safe and say no.

juicycampus.com and thedirty.com both sound like porn sites.

They are “trashy” websites, one about college campuses and one about celebrity rumors.
If you have enough to show that you are filling your time and have the qualities they want, it’s probably best to omit it.

thanks for the answers guys…one more

can i list it on my resume, but just put

“founder of a popular website” featured in x newspaper, and x magazine and all of the skills it taught me??

Give it a company name not related to the site (such as XYZ Web Properties), and list information about what you did for the site(s) the company runs, without listing the site itself.
