<p>By short answers, I mean those one liners, the "20 words or fewer" sort of thing.
I filled out some knowing what I WANTED to say, but realized that some institutions are perhaps... iffy on the only thing.</p>
<p>For instance, I veered from the typical path on UMD's 'most interesting fact learned from research' because my research experiment would take at least 100 words to explain, and talked about studies suggesting that homosexuality wasn't a choice. Too much?</p>
<p>And another, on a different college's application, I criticized those who want to teach Creationism right alongside the theory of evolution.</p>
<p>I've managed to steer clear of such things on my ED application, but some of these questions that seem to want a 'creative' answer usually end up looking, well, you see. Are both too much, or have you too included at least one thing like these? I did think they were strong reflections of my opinions and who I am(FTR, not gay, just a strong proponent of LGBT equality).</p>

Oh, and I also talked about helping a girl stop cutting herself. A different kind of controversial, but nevertheless....</p>
