At my high school we do not use +/-'s for grading just the letter: A, B, C, etc. My question is will colleges just see all my grades as an A because my school doesn’t have A+ or do colleges have a way of determining if my A is an A+ or A-. According to my high school my UW GPA is 4.0, but I am wondering if colleges will consider it as 3.7-8 somthing instead, many of my A’s are 92-95ish.
They will see whatever your HS sends them. Usually, the colleges will get your transcript and then a school profile that shows the grading scale. They are used to HS with different grading scales. Remember some schools don’t even have letter grades. Colleges get the materials they need. If you have more concern, talk with your GC and ask to see what your school sends. Also, if you are from a HS that the regional admissions counselor is familiar with, then he/she will know how your school works as well. Finally, if your A is a 93 or a 98, they will probably never know. Hope that helps.
