<p>For what it's worth: My son, now a freshman at William and Mary, was accepted at U.Va., Carnegie-Mellon and William and Mary. He loves it at W&M! My wife and I both have U.Va. degrees and we love that place . . . but it had to be our son's decision; he made up his mind; and we haven't regretted it a second. Everything about William and Mary is class, from freshman orientation on. You'll even like the Parent's Day invitation -- so much intellectual stuff going on, but plenty of fun stuff too, such as the picnic. My son is in Yates Hall, has friends from all over, and does not seem to feel any "northern" or "southern" tension at all.</p>
