Cookies

The ONLY way a current mid or ...yes you dictatoranna, my dear...will ever get cookies from me is to PM me and BEG!

(Only Zaphod said "yes" outright to my offer, that's why he'll get them without the begging. And I already said I liked him better than the rest of you. Comes with our New York blood...we gotta 'take care of our own, you know!' :-) And mommies ALWAYS get to make the rules, so these are MINE!! Besides, my rules are a piece of cake compared to what you Plebes will face, right Zaph!?)

OK, OK, I'm lying about the 'begging' part. You all were probably willing to do that to get your Appointments if you didn't get one, so I won't put you through that mental agony over my cookies! :-)

I dunno. My Mom (God rest her soul) was the quiet type, but when she got mad, she could put a USMC Drill Instructor to shame. Even Dad would back down.

I love Mom! :D

I MISS Mom. :(

Good morning Zaph....
My dad ( God rest his soul) was the firey Italian type who didn't know what a low voice meant. Whether he was glorious happy or furiously mad, the voice level didn't change much...He loved me passionately as his firstborn, ( and I was his favorite child, much as he didn't want to dwell on it and I knew it ) and all he wanted for me was to achieve my potential intellectually, mentally, emotionally and spiritually - and his standards were as high as any USMC Drill Instructor.

He dropped dead at 40 yrs of age, my 15th year, in front of me on the Day After New Years, 1969...

You know, I think he would be proud of what I've made of my life ( Thanks be to God )

I love you DAD! :-)
I miss you Dad! :-(

oooo I'm in Rochester, NY. I'm a New-Yorker too. :)

But I hate this state. I'd live in NYC if I had to live in this place. Anywhere in the country: ANNAPOLIS!

wvdad. you crack me up. "Love ya. Mean it" is a staple phrase in our household. Every birthday card, Christmas card is pretty much signed with that. Guess you're a fan of our beloved Maury too! LOL

Peske & Zap.... while the above made me laugh, your post made me sad & so thankful I have both of my parents and a Grandparent left. I love em love em love em and tell them so alot. You can borrow mine any time you want! Although my Mom will re-arrange your furniture and plan your garden (which looks pretty darn good BTW) and my Dad will tell you your garage is a mess. Oh, and Grandma will watch the golf channel all the live long day. LOL GOD, I love them! Wish you could have my memories for a nano second. They are so great.

usnso, cool your jets buddy. This is a beautiful country we live in and yes, NY is beautiful. So is Annapolis. If you end up there, appreciate it will ya? Good luck in applying! :)

Yes it's definitely an awesome country. However, I've definitely seen better states than NY. I'll appreciate every second I'm anywhere. I'm definitely not rushing life by saying, "I can't wait to..." I make the most of every minute, learn as much as I can, and help as many people as I can along the way.

"I make the most of every minute, learn as much as I can, and help as many people as I can along the way."

Always do that and you will be so great no matter where your road leads. You, my friend just touched on the important things in life and I'm so glad you know it. Kudos to you!!

You got it Jamzmom - Golden Rule, my friends, the Golden Rule. I've always taught my kids there are two things in this world that are solely yours, your body and your word. Don't compromise either. I'm also pretty stingy with handing out promises.

I only have mom left and yes, even with three back surgeries, neck fusion and hip replacement, she STILL has her gardens!

We'll be "down your way" first of June - North Myrtle Beach bound. Last "family" trip prior to I-Day.

Oooooo! Golfin' or just beachin'? Be sure to hit Phillips to get that taste of Maryland! There is too much fun to be had there.

http://www.phillipsseafood.com/

Just beachin' it. I "plan" on completely vegging for 7 days. LOL! Golf clubs gave way to "other" ball games, recitals, meets...

Thanks for the Phillips link! They say a picture is worth a thousand words.... this PB&J has kind of lost it's appeal! :p

We normally hit Mike's Crab House when in Annapolis. I can see that Phillips is to be added to the ever-growing list.

Don't forget to try Double T's if you get the chance. :D

Jamzmon...I agree totally with the excellent choice of Phillips. My girlfriend worked at Phillips Crabhouse in Ocean City, MD while I was a Mid. It enabled me to beach it and surf OC whenever I was in town even through some fall weekends. Also met quite a few of the other workers, the cooks had the most fun. Anyway, the Phillips restaurant and family is certainly an interesting story in its own right, and their Crab Imperial and crabcakes are simply some of the best dishes around. Now I want to surf the jetty, hoist a cold one and enjoy an Auggie.

Awww Peskemom, do those cookies only go to Annapolis, or can some find their way to Cambridge? I'm gonna have to deal with a lot of crap too, just in a different way, lol. I'll still technically be a "midshipmen"... :-)

Shawna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OF COURSE you qualify young lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're gonna be an 'adopted USNA mid' by more than just me you know.
Once you have your college address, let me know and just like in the Matrix: "You're in!"

Oh good!!! Thanks peskemom, you're so awesome! I lovvvvve cookies.....and seeing as how my mom can't cook/bake (smoke alarm goes off when she tries to boil water, no joke), homemade cookies would be a rare treat!

well then, they can be a regular for you and your roommate, and/or sometime I'll send a batch for you to share on a saturday with your ROTC gang...Heck, I've made 500 cookies for our marching band years so don't think I'm not up to the task! :-)

I'm starting a chant: WE LOVE PESKEMOM!

That's toooooo short sandiegodude1607

it needs more lines to be a chant!

WE LOVE PESKEMOM, YES WE DO
WE LOVE PESKEMOM HOW ABOUT YOU?

peskemom, she's our gal,
making cookies, she's everyone's pal.

peskemom, bake that dough,
bring on the cookies, let them flow!

peskemom, baking all the day,
we do love to eat them, what else can I say!

GOOOO peskemom! GOOOO Navy! :D

You rock wvdad!
email your cookie order!
you're the winner!!! :-)
