cooking

Is anyone off the meal plan this semester and cooking?

I'm living off campus, taking a pretty heavy semester of math and physics classes, and trying not to starve, but don't really have any idea what I'm doing when it comes to cooking.

Tips?

Crockpots!

From cooking in the dorms last year, I had combination of crockpots and electric skillets. Crockpots work well because you can add the ingredients to the pot and let it cook all day. You will come home to a wonderful meal. Furthermore, I would recommend some basic spices and raw ingredients so you can actually make most foods.

Raw: Flour, Sugar, Brown Sugar, Corn Starch, Baking Powder, Baking Soda

Eggs, Milk, Butter.

Cook on weekends, Freeze, instant frozen dinners.

Learn how to cook pasta. Foodnetwork.com has tons of recipes and most of them are not very difficult.

I’m guessing you’re pretty smart since you’re taking lots of math and physics classes. Well guess what, cooking is basically just chem lab but you can actually eat what you make (and you don’t have to wear ridiculous goggles).
