Cool Engineering/Science Program

For all students who are interested in a summer program, check out the Engineering Summer Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I participated in this program about 4 years ago, and I had a wonderful experience, so I highly encourage you all to check it out:

Here's the website:

The deadline hasn't passed, and they pay $500.

D is interested in this program for next year. She's read all the info on the website, but can't get a sense from that how competitive it is. The grade and course requirements for admission don't look difficult, but do you know what percentage of applicants they take and what the selection criteria are? How much depends on minority status (she's a white female, so not a minority for much other than this program) or financial need? She loves math and science but knows very little about engineering and thought this was a great way to learn more.
