What are some things people have?

Well if you want your room to be the hangout room, I’d recommend a TV and gaming systems (preferably of the Nintendo brand). There was a kid in my hall with a TIVO that I was really jealous of. Also it’s really nice to have a freezer on top of your refrigerator for ice cream/vodka. Also having some nice speakers is a big plus. Make sure you have two fans for temperature control if you’re not in an air conditioned dorm (they’re also great for white noise).

Make sure you have forks and cups, don’t ask why but you’ll randomly need them at some point and they’re really nice to have.

Can’t think of anything else right now but I may repost.

A futon with plenty of cushions is a must if you want your room to be a hangout spot. The more seating, the better. Bean bags work as well.

haha, my friend says that you dont want to be the kid in the hall with a tripped out video game setup. Theres always someone else who will do that and have their room be swarmed by other randoms non-stop

to be honest, unless you study in your room or plan on being anti social you don’t spend a lot of time just chilling in your room unless you’re 1) getting ready to go out for the night or 2) getting ready to go to bed/ finished with hw for the night. Other than that your not in your room as often as you would think (at least as often as I thought I would be)

I do recommend a monitor to set up dual monitors with a laptop though, extra desktop space.

1)A VPN on your laptop. With download speeds in dorms its almost like they want you to pirate (http://i.imgur.com/fZkNj.png). Also try to get on private trackers. They are sweet.
2)Good pair of headphones, by which I mean not Beats. They leak a hell of a lot, and don’t even have good sound quality for the price. Additionally by getting a good pair of headphones, you will be courteous to your neighbors and your roommate. Dont be the guy who blasts music. 3) PC gaming? I dunno, latest generation of consoles is a joke. If you heed step 1 you wouldn’t be paying for pc games anyways. A good mouse is really the only necessity nowadays.
@kyle: I thought everyone just takes that stuff from the Dining halls anyways? if you do just make sure to return it before year’s end.
@kobudnik: Assignment should come first before thinking about it. An 11x12 in Markley would make that an impossiblity

inb4 piracy is wrong.

@Rhythm: everyone does steal from the dining halls (I have friends who live in houses whose entire silverware collection is made of dining hall stuff), but its a pain when its 1am, you want ramen, and you don’t have a fork or cup to heat up the water.

@Pacers: Best way to pregame is while playing Mario Kart 64. Also the extra monitor is a godsend, I did that and I’m so glad I did.

i remember the good old days of markey. i’d make a pizza and take it to my room, put in the fridge, then microwave it later.

How big are the Doubles in bursley?
