Recommendation Letters:
One from Chemistry Teacher, Calculus Teacher and a Chemical Engineering Professor.
The first two will be great. The last one will be decent.

Essays:
They will be pretty good as well.

I know that my SAT and my GPA and my EC's are not that great. Just tell me what you think please!

Like you said, your SAT Reasoning and ECs aren’t spectacular, but I’d say being in the Top 6.5% of your class is a good accomplishment. The real problem is that your an unhooked ORM.

Your stats are definitely good enough for Cooper Union and Cornell; it’ll come down to whether or not those adcoms can see through your laundry list of ECs and how well you write your essays. Princeton, Duke and Stanford will be significant reaches, though.

Oh okay. Well, I have a strong passion in music and I thought maybe people will be able to see that through my EC.
So…is my EC too weak?
Also, can I ask you how you can quote someone?

I think Cooper union might be the hardest. They have the acceptance rate of 7% and more and more people are applying early decision for it!!! :((((

Take with a grain of salt what most kids here say, they don’t know what Cooper is. Cooper, Princeton and Stanford are reaches. 1460 CR plus math and less than 5% would mean the need for an unusual EC to be competitive. Duke and Cornell are more realistic reaches, but raise CR for a much better shot.

^CU is not as selective as Redroses is implying. Maybe their freshmen statistics are deflated because of all the art majors, but the OP’s GPA and SAT are both well-within range. Cooper Union should not be considered along the same tier as Princeton and Stanford; putting its selectivity above Duke, too, is a little overcautious.

That CR score hurts you a lot imo. All the schools listed in your title are reaches for you, though cornell and duke are the most realistic. I’m looking into chem eng too so perhaps I can give some advice. There are lots of extremely good small engineering schools for chem eng; rose hulman, cooper union (as you mentioned), and olin come to mind, though rose hulman is probably the best fit for you. I hope you know Duke has no chemical engineering major offered. Best of luck with admissions!

To say that everything else balances out a sub 700 CR score shows a lack of understanding of the admissions process. Simply untrue and dangerous advice. Read common data sets to get facts, not posts by teenager.
