Hi! I'm interested in applying ED to Cooper Union's engineering program this year, and I have two questions (one Cooper related, one not).

I know that some colleges allow you to apply ED to them and still apply EA to other places. Does anyone know Cooper's policy on this?

Does applying EA to other colleges as a safety net look bad when you're applying ED to your top choice? / Would it be likely to hurt your chances?

Thanks for your time, and best of luck in your college search.

Generally, colleges with ED do allow you to apply EA elsewhere and that includes Cooper Union (it is some EA colleges that don’t allow you to apply ED elsewhere so check the EA school’s rules before applying if you are doing ED to Cooper). . You just have to withdraw other applications if accepted. And your applying EA elsewhere has no impact on the ED evaluation.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer. I just wanted to double check before I did anything to mess up my admissions chances. Have a great day!
