Cooper Union vs NYU Tandon Engineering

Cooper Union vs NYU Tandon

Major: Electrical and Computer Engineering

Concerns: Job prospects for Cooper Union (since it’s a smaller school and might not have as many connects as the bigger ones). To that end, I’m not sure how adapting to a small school will be (I’ve been in very large public schools all my life). Also, if I don’t like ECE, I can transfer to CS at NYU, but I can’t do this at Cooper.

Thanks for the insights!

Are both schools affordable?

Cooper Union is about half the price of NYU.

Go to Cooper Union at half the cost. My cousins went there and went on to great graduate schools and/or got great jobs right away. My brother went to NYU engineering back in the day when it was a separate school called Polytechnic. He didn’t have great experiences there and it is (still) located in Bklyn. I personally think of Cooper Union as more prestigious and I think they do have a strong alumni being such a small tight knit school. Location is excellent too.

NYU Engineering is not even on the main campus but at the old poly campus… cooper union is more superior as an engineering school…
