<p>What kind of school is this? Is it an engineering specialized school? can you give me a brief explanation on them. On the scale of 1-10 is it a competitive school? (10-HYSP, 1-your guess)</p>
<p>Very specialized school... offers only programs in engineering, architecture and art. Although its not very well known, its very highly regarded by those in art, architecture and engineering. Its also tuition-free... if you get in. Their admit rate has usually been around 10%. On a scale of one to ten... I'd give it about a 9.</p>
<p>its a bad school, soo sooo overrated by people. i'd give it a 6.5</p>

<p>its a one building school, no school spirit, no college life at all. they claim low acceptance rate, CUNY-Baruch has around a 13% acceptance too. i know they say how difficult it is to gain admissions, there are a few people that have gotten into cooper union from my high school, when i was in high school. these students didn't get in any top 30 school. one of my high school teachers graduated from cooper union with a degree in engineering, he even told me its overrated. a lot of people apply because of the free tuition. when the school doesn't have a lot of resource, no income from tuition, student quality isn't high, and faculty don't conduct top research, what good is it really?</p>
<p>I've heard that companies in and around NYC hire grads from CU as fast as they can graduate. Very high ratings in USNews. There is no campus. It's just a few buildings mixed in with the rest of NYC.</p>
<p>Dood..it is near impossible to get accepted there. I agrree its very small, but seriously, that school is not overrated, its underrated. In our school, people thought it was a community college. Very very good school. If u have strong stats and want to major in engineering, thats ur school.</p>
<p>For selectivity I'd give it an 11! Pop over to the Arts Majors forum. There are lots of Cooperites there.
