Copenhagen, Florence, Padua or somewhere else?

Two d's are considering fall semester junior year abroad. One is studying Environmental Studies and seems to have a good fit in the DIS program in Copenhagen. Has anyone done this program? Any advice?

The other has some Italian language (probably majoring in Cog Sci/Film Studies) and is looking for a cultural immersion experience. Has anyone done the SU Florence program or the BU Padua program? How good are the classes and will a moderate Italian speaker sink or swim? She would attend in the UK or other parts of Europe if the programs are particularly strong.

I did DIS for European Humanities and would definitely recommend the homestay or the folkeskole housing options!

My D will be coming home in a few days from her semester at DIS. She studied European Politics and absolutely loved the whole experience. She was very impressed with the entire DIS program, extremely organized with excellent professors and programs. The study tours which are built into each major were packed with both education and fun. In the Politics major they were able to meet with a number of prominent people from the European Union. She also stayed with a host family and had a terrific experience. I believe that all her friends who chose this option were also very glad they did.
