So i am a second semester senior who applied to 15 different top 100 colleges and i copied my friends homework assignment because i was busy after school. Its not an excuse i was just validating the situation. This is my first offense and i am freaking out, will this get put on my "permanent record" and will colleges find out about it? Please

Wait were you caught or what?

yes i was caught and my teacher said we would have a parent administration conference. Im freaking out now because i don’t want this to get reported to colleges.

You’ll have to ask your GC if it will be reported. If there are school repercussions you may have to report it yourself.

My guess is the school won’t want to ruin your life over a homework assignment, but wants to scare you. This won’t be a deal breaker.

It’s better to get a d on an assignment if no time then copy, but sure you learned that lesson.

Breath. Itll be fine.

Thanks, I also was wondering if this will ever get to any of the UC’s since all the request is a transcript you mail

Anyone? Please?

Well has your school already mailed the mid year report? If they have, I doubt your school would go through the trouble of telling the colleges you have gotten caught cheating. Talk to your guidance counselor and be very apologetic and say you have learned your lesson. If he/she’s a nice person then you’re all set.

Also if I remember correctly, UCs don’t require mid year reports? So maybe what I explained above isn’t even applicable.

No they send them at the end of this week, but they also have to send a final one. The worse that can happen is this goes on my “record”. How do you tell if your school reports these type of incidents on transcripts? My unofficial transcript is only a page and doesn’t have any space or marks for academic dishonesty
