Some ppl from our school i have heard are copying essays from seniors who got into top schools. obviously they are sending it to other schools and not to the ones in which the seniors applied. but still that is completely unfair. dont colleges have a method of catching them?

It's cheating and its unfair, but unfortunately I don't think the colleges will catch them.

come on. these are multi billion dollar businesses. dont they do anything to check? Some guy told me that they had this software in WUST where they would check essays with those in the past. And applicants with extremely similar essays to the ones before would be outright rejected. dont the top colleges like share this software or whatever it is. I am concerned coz some of the essays by our seniors were brilliant. and they would surely give the applicant an advantage.

any other opinions?

I wouldn't put it past the colleges at least the ones in the Ivies anyway of containing a database with all of the essays and they could just have software the scans them for similar sentences and words. It would be pretty easy to do.

I wouldn't risk it.

but you could pay someone to write a new one for you colleges can't check that.

Colleges could catch it and say that it's familiar. Don't risk being caught.
